Atlanta Toys for Tots

Site Objective: The site objective was to give the Atlanta Toys for Tots web site a design overhaul. Also since the Atlanta chapter was branching out and somewhat managing broader territories it needed a way to “localize” their separate areas under one roof.

Development Specifications: In this case we decided to use WordPress MU, so that multiple sites could easily be added on that would give the full WordPress functionality but remain somewhat separate from the “master” brand. This way as new local organizations sprung up, we would easily be able to give them their own web site under the Atlanta T4T umbrella.

This site received it’s own custom theme that allowed for children blogs to re-use that theme but with their custom content.

This site also included a custom web application build that managed toy requests, drop sites, events, and volunteers. This back end system tied into the front end WordPress site through both collection of data through forms on the site as well as displaying data from the back end system through Google Maps on the WordPress powered site.
